Hi guys, been a while since I,ve posted and kept up to date on things here. So here goes,
I got asked to flash a Phat hitachi 79 and watched the tuts a few times. i also read the pdf by one of the members here and thought I was good to go. i downloaded the 79 unlock and burned it to a cd using img burn.
I was able to put the drive into mode B no problems but as soon as I goto the hitachi tab in the lizard tool box and select choose file I get asked do you want to create a source bin file and i click ok. I then get an error at adress 0. On the lizard screen I think it said unable to dump 51 but I'm not a hundered percent on that last point tho.
The box had been flashed with jungle flasher before but I do not know what version cfw it was.
I have flashed a Phat benq with the lizard so I do not think there is a problem with it.
Dash version on the box is 2.013146.0
Lizard toolbox version is 1.52
Gecko 1.28
Fileset 3.0

usually occurs when you dont press Get Device Detials on main tab of TBX
and you folowed these steps?
On Lizard:
Send Software Mode B (asks to eject, go ahead and place 79unlock disc on tray and close)
Unlock a Hitachi79 Drive (will spin up and tell you commpleted)
then go to TBX:
Get Deivce Detials
Click on Hitachi Flasher Tab
Click on Choose file - save source

Definitely had the device details and got it into mode b no problems at all, well it said drive is in mode B.
The way you have laid out the steps is slightly different than the manual. I already had device details right at the start and it has the 79 unlock in the tray at the start. On lizard it says power up drive press ok then open/close tray press ok. As soon as you press ok it will do the disk spin thing and say drive in mode B with a tick. then I tried the

Ok you said that you got ModeB and you inserted the unlock disc, but did you click the command to spin the unlock disc? I'm just making sure since you didn't mention if it said 79 unlock successful. I'm that "member" that wrote the pdf, and I'm pretty sure I didn't skip that step. If it's failing on that burn the disc at a slower rate and if it still doesn't work your laser is dying, which is common on Shitachi lol. Try a pot tweak and see if that helps before buying a new one.

Thanks for the replys guys but my friend has taken his box back to his jungle flasher friend so i guess i let the team down slightly. When I went into mode b it came up with a mode b successful with a tick on the lizard screen so I thought that was mode b. Any way thanks for help its nice to know i can come here and not get a flaming for being a newbie like other sites. I guess if i was flashing drives more regulary i would be more familiar with what to do.
