Hi, howdy ? Been tryin to flasha fat hitachi that is already been flashed with CFW, but wont play XGD3 DISCS alone.
I used Case 2 of the tutorial" flashing hitachi with cfw on it"
1. Drive to mode b using lizard- DONE ! SUCCESS
2.Saved the source.bin from the hitachi flasher TAB... (with restore to stock radio button selected)..analysed changes success.. clicked on WRITE( as there was a prompt saying that you need to flash it back to stock)--success
3.Then navigated to CFW generator tab..loadFW.....
4.CFW FILE SET TEMPLATE SELECT OPTION : Selected LT2.0 CUSTOM FILESET 2.0f (i HOPE I MADE CORRECT SELECTION) and saved the HITACHI_CFW
5. Under hitachi flasher again.. selected radio button FLASH CFW and directed HITACHI_CFW and analysed changes....write was also done successfully...
**The xbox wont read any xgd3 again and its in the same condition.. i get disc read errors on trying xgd3's**
Please note : I am using truncated discs...I dont have LT burner max i has...

3 things
1: That fileset is fine for that Hitachi, because it is probably never going to get another update, but you need the newest 3.0b fileset and I am guessing your Toolbox is out of date by now.
2: A lot of people think you need to keep old filesets, and I'm thinking since you asked if that was the correct one you may be one of these people. You only need the most current set, they always include the most current CFW for all drives. Just because it says 3.0 does not mean that it is only for the 3.0 drives, it also has 2.0, 2.01, and the pre 13146 CFW's. So always update!!! The Toolbox now has a sweet-ass "Check for Lizard Updates" button...use it
3: I'm gonna guess the discs you are trying are truncated. Are they?...probably, NO Hitachi supports truncated discs. You need to invest in an iHas burner. Everyone does, eventually M$ is going to update the dash to do a CIV check and no disc is going to support truncated discs. Not even C4eva or TX is "supporting" them.
