A customer of mine did live update to 14699- the newwest dashboard and he says it never reads any disc(Not even originals).
model : arcade phat xbox360
drive : Lite-on
I checked and it was'nt reading any.
I took the keys using the lizard and placed it safely. in my PC. Told the customer , that we have a 50:50 chance to revive this xbox back because i was doubting if he did something to erase the keys. But not sure.. i know its not possible to erase xbox keys without opening the case.
THings i did : -
1. Flashed to original firmware [OFW-Fileset106 from lizard tab] -- > Still same problem.
2. Erased it and flashed back LT3.0-- > still same problem..
Can i come to a conclusion that the Original keys were somehow erased from the drive ??
My experience with lizard- Flashed 247 xbox phat so far....
Xbox did live update to 14699( Not readin any disc absolutely)

sounds like laser died
14699 did nothing to change drives
other things changed, which requires new game patching with toplogy, but if originals are not booting, try a new laser

wait- i have a doubt here.... when do we use spoofing ?
i thought we should use spoofing if we need to change --lite on to --liteon also
Ok i just need to flash these keys to another drive and test ?

We can't help you w/o details. It could be several things. You could have flashed the wrong F/W version to the LiteOn, did you patch the games, etc.

hey squallen-the beta tester
- The problem for me is simple. I need to swap lite on, because i am suspicious about drive laser not working. Originals also do not work after updating to 14699( as said by my customer). I do have a lite on drive from a different xbox in good condition and i wanna swap it. Yes i have the keys safely backedup

If neither originals or back ups are booting and you are positive the laser is good then you have the wrong key.

hmm.. i have been thinking the same thing. But the moral of the story could be-Customer might be lying, may be he gave it to some inexperienced guy and he did an erase
