I built my own LPT cable and trying to flash my Maximus Stinger through Xilinx impact. It detects the cables and chip. It also allows me to load up the Trinity.jed file but I get the failed message whenever I try to program it.

When I first load up the software it asks me for a BSDL or BIT file for the device. I can't pick yes because I don't knwo what it is.. I put no and it sets a default dummy BSDL. Then I load up trinity.jed. After that I can't program it..

been stuck on this for awhile now and I'm getting impatient.

do you have an external 3.3v and gnd connected?

actually I figured it out.. removed the diodes and 3K resistors 'cept for the 220 and 3K3 from the VCC/GND and Xilinx booted up without that request for the BSDL file and now it programs just fine. However, I'm not getting the Xell screen when I boot up. This is what I did as far as steps.

Dumped 2 matching copy of nands.
used 360 multi builder to create ecc.
used jtag tool to flash ECC file to 360.

Programmed stinger with J270 and slim points bridged. Was successful. Drew power from 3.3v point on 360 mobo, same with GND. Didn't power on the 360 so I figured it's okay.
Flashed the stinger.
Installed all wires for stinger.
Booted slim 360 but no screen.

Am I missing something?

NM I figured it out.
