Hiya,
I will start from the beginning.
A friend gave me their Xbox 360 slim to repair.
The drive had the open tray error.
It then started to give out the E64 error.
Old drive details:
Philips Lite-on DG-16D4S
FW: 0272 (9504 on Label)
Winbond
I got a new drive.
New drive details:
Philips Lite-on DG-16D4S
FW: 9504
MXIC
I have the drive hooked up to my PC.
It is hooked up as follows.
Drive power is from the Xbox.
SATA cable ran from Drive to a SATA port on my Motherboard.
I am using the latest Jungleflasher.
I want to take the key from the old drive and put it onto the new drive.
If I have understood everything that I have read correctly then it would mean I have to first copy the key using DVDKEY32 in JF and use the Slimkey option which then allows me to save a Dummy.bin which contains the Key.
Once that is done I then have to take the dummy.bin and using Firmwaretool32 I then add the key to the firmware.
This is simply a repair for a friend, don't want to unlock/spoof the drive, the console will be used on XBL, so the safest option is what I am looking for.
I know how to retrieve the key (infact I have already obtained the Dummy.bin)
My problem is I do not know how to add the old key to the new drive.
I have also tried the Mtkflash32 option but without any success as the old drive is SPI locked, or atleast JF says it is.
Any and all help is much appreciated.
If anyone could post the steps in doing the task or direct me to a guide (Which is just a simple drive replacement, not anything else) it would be much appreciated.
Cheers

you can not transfer keys from drive to drive
You need dummy.bin from old drive and write over new drive

So I just use the Firmwaretool32 select the dummy.bin as the source and the drive as the target then write it?
Have no idea how to write the key to the firmware.
Will doing this leave the drive XBL safe?
Also will I need to update the drive to 0272 ? If so how will I go about doing that?
Thanks again!

if you flash a drive your at risk, anyone telling your your safe with CFW is not bright
to update the drive to 0272, flash it to stock 9504 and run the MS update

Ok so just to get this absolutely straightened out.
Do I flash the key onto the drive and then do the MS update (Hook it up to xbox, connect to live and let it update)?
Or do I hook the drive up, do the MS update and then flash the key onto the drive?
Also In order to flash the key to the drive, I select the firmwaretool 32, select the dummy.bin as the source and the new drive as the target and then click "spoof to drive" is that right?
Could you please tell me how to flash the drive. What tool to use in Jungleflasher and a general run down of what to do.
First time using Jungleflasher and I REALLY do not want anything to go wrong.
Thanks again, really appreciating the help!
Haven't done any flashing since the original xbox, so this is all new to me.
